Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts moves the Lahaina Inn to the Cloud with ATRIO™ Guest Experience Management System

PAR Springer-Miller Systems, Inc. (PSMS) — a wholly owned subsidiary of PAR Technology Corporation (NYSE:PAR) and the leading provider of guest-centric hospitality management systems today announces the successful deployment of the ATRIO™ Guest Experience Management platform at the Lahaina Inn, a Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts property in Lahaina, Hawaii.

Originally constructed in 1938 as a general merchandise store, the Lahaina Inn is part of the storied history of Lahaina. Located steps from the beach, the Lahaina Inn offers 12 intimate and inviting rooms and suites decorated with antiques. Proud of the history of the property, Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts was eager to deploy the next generation of hospitality technology.

The guiding pillars of ATRIO include the industry’s only platform purpose-built for true cloud computing, a highly innovative user experience, modular design, and the use of an Enterprise Service Bus. Overlaying ATRIO rests PAR Springer-Miller’s ongoing commitment to guest-centricity.  Among many other benefits, the user experience, true cloud computing and the guest-centric design represent particularly significant benefits for the Lahaina Inn.

“The primary role of our staff is to provide our hallmark Hawaiian hospitality, not to navigate complex systems,” commented Melody Jones, Regional Director of Information Systems for Hawaiian Hotels and Resorts. “ATRIO’s innovative user interface and touch screen capability creates a very simple, easy to navigate system. Our Team is able to focus on more personal interactions with our guests and less on the technology.”

Designed by user experience experts and subjected to extensive testing by real-world users, ATRIO offers walk-up-and-use simplicity. With role-based landing pages and one-click task access, actionable information is always at your fingertips with ATRIO.

“It made a lot of sense for us to move to a cloud-based PMS for the Lahaina Inn,” remarked Jones. “Eliminating extensive on property hardware requirements and moving to a SaaS model allowed us to install this system without a large capital investment.”

Purpose built for the cloud, ATRIO leverages all the advantages of Microsoft’s Windows Azure. ATRIO dramatically reduces on-property technology requirements and the associated support staff. By deploying ATRIO in Windows Azure, sensitive data moves safely off-property, reducing risk and enhancing information security.

“We’re delighted to have the Lahaina Inn join our growing list of ATRIO properties. The Lahaina Inn has a unique history dating back to 1938, and it made perfect sense to recognize and applaud the property as our first cloud deployment outside of the continental United States,” remarked Larry Hall, President & CEO, PAR Springer-Miller. “Melody and her team did a terrific job managing the installation and exploiting the ‘zero-training’ principal of ATRIO.”

“PAR Springer-Miller has been a trustworthy partner for Hawaiian Hotels and Resort for many years,” remarked Jones. “We’re excited to benefit from PSMS’ latest innovation and look forward to deploying ATRIO in our other hotels when the time comes.”

With ATRIO, PAR Springer-Miller Systems has pioneered and delivered a new generation of technology for the hospitality industry; moving the hospitality industry to The Cloud,  to a new user experience, and to a new way of doing business. The ATRIO hospitality technology platform is the most significant technology development to occur in the hospitality industry in the last 25 years.
